Compositor y director nacido en Barcelona en 1950. Instrumentista de piano y de clarinete, ha compuesto un buen número de obras de cámara y sinfónicas. Es además, un gran conocedor de la musica 'flamenca', la cual ha servido de base para algunas de sus composiciones, en las cuales siempre se respira una luminosidad y color marcadamente mediterráneos. Ha trabajado también en el cine , el teatro y la danza. Ha obtenido en seis ocasiones consecutivas, (de 1999 a 2005) el premio al mejor arreglista de España. La Generalitat de Catalunya le concedió el Premio Nacional de música por la ópera 'Euridice' en el año 2002 y asimismo obtuvo el Premio Ciudad de Barcelona el mismo año, por sus colaboraciones con Miguel Poveda. Como arreglista, adaptador y orquestador, ha colaborado con artistas de las mas variadas tendencias, tales como Katia y Marielle Labèque , Alfredo Kraus, Plácido Domingo, El Camarón de la Isla, Paco de Lucía, Tomatito, Vicente Amigo, Miguel Poveda, etc... We are proud to announce that Joan Albert AMARGOS, composer for the project 'De Fuego y de Agua' commissioned by the Foundation Katia & Marielle Labeque, has been nominated this year for a Grammy award in the category 'Best classical contemporary composition' |
